Default Interface re-orgaization question

Pretty simple, I got sick of dieing because of Backfire and not knowing my DP so I decieded to move my effects bar to a more central location... But there's a problem

See Winter? Right above my skill bar on the right? I want to get it over to the left, next to the HP and EN bars. If I swap places with my HP and EN bars with the effects bar the situation is the same, only in reverse order. Any ideas?

The Effects bar just goes that way. I would just move the chat box and put it there.

I noticed on some of the UI items, when placed there location is based off center of screen. Hence what you are seeing on yours.
I put my maintained bar all the way to the left of the screen. Yep it covers over my chat window but that's okay. When fighting I do not talk. Targets are called by the leader of the group and that is all that matters at the moment. Besides you only need to see the last line of text so a little placement fudging and all is fine. When the fights over they are usualy starting to die off so chat window is back to full until the next fight.

Things align with the nearest edge of the screen. So if you put it above the middle, it will move to the top of the box. Try testing it when you have a maintained enchant on and resize the box and move it around. Then you should see what I mean.

When you perfectly center the effects monitor box you'll end up with the effects being showed up on the right side of the box.
When you resize the right size of the box a bit towards the middle the effect will show up on the left side now.
Will post a pic when i'm back home.

I wish Anet came up with a more advanced effects monitor, like at least seperating Spirit effects from DP, and Hexes from Enchantments. That way we can spend less time looking at the effects and more time reacting to them.
